    Alignment of the βNMR Cryostat


    Alignment is important to get the beam into the sample and to have the sample in the centre of the magnet - the position of highest homogeneity of the magnetic field.

    Right now the primary alignment tool is a telescope:

    bnmr telescope

    The telescope looks through an optical port

    straight down the beampipe into the solenoid.
